Chapter 4:
La la Land
I couldn't explain where I was at right now, the ground was cover with a coat of glossy white snow and each of the thousands of trees were in full bloom. A long road stretched out in front of me, it felt as if it was pulling me along. I looked around, and was completely astonished by the fact at this abnormal place, it couldn't be real, trees can not be in full bloom in the winter. I questioned my sanity, and began walking down the road. I looked at into the sky and seen the sun blazing down a pond me. Where the hell am I? I asked myself repeatedly. This has to be a dream, there is no way that this could be real, but it honestly felt real, I could feel like freezing cold wet snow leaking into my shoes and beginning to make my feet unbearably cold and the cool breeze that was just right hitting my face, and the hot sun burning the top of my head. I stopped, and looked around once more. From the corner of my eye I seen someone behind one of the various trees surrounding me.
“Hello?” I asked, moving slightly closer, to the tree I spotted the person at.
“Hello?” I repeated, no reply, I began walking faster, I got to the tree and looked around and seen nothing. I looked at the ground and seen footsteps. I began getting scared, this is just a dream, just a dream. Something told me told me follow the footsteps, so I began to. A long line of footsteps I followed to this huge tree, had to be the biggest out of the rest. The footsteps disappeared, I looked and into the large tree, the sun blinded my view, I used my hand to cover my eyes, I seen something large and before I could even get the thought of running into my head, it pounced on me and held my neck so tightly I couldn't breathe, he was gripping my head with his other hand and had it forced into the freezing snow. The shadow tilted his head and let loose of my neck enough for me to catch my breathe again. This thing was wearing all black, with a face mask off, he pulled off the top part revealing his eyes, the darkest shade of green eyes were piercing into my being, the darkest shade of green eyes were about to kill me. I closed my eyes and gasp.
“What time do you get to sleep at night Elizabeth?”
“What?” I said, barely able to talk. I pulled my head up, wiped my face with my sleeves, and stared at Devon.
“Were you having a bad dream darling? You were talking to yourself.” she said, pulling her bag strap over her shoulder.
“No, more on the lines of creepy.”
“What was it about?” she asked in such a weird tone.
“A man stole my chocolate bar, and he wouldn't give it back, so I kicked him in his nuts, and he turned into this big gooey boogie monster, so creepy.”
Devon shot me this terrified look and walked out the class with Ace following her, without looking back to make sure I was coming.
Honestly I rather have not told her my dream, I am very secretive, I like my privacy, I don't feel the need of everyone know the “whole” Elizabeth, I rather them assume and be completely wrong, I don't care what people think about me, and thats why I choose to stay quiet, they don't know, they guess, they're wrong, plain and simple. I learned a while ago to stay quiet, being a stupid teenager wanting to talk certainly didn't help my situation out. I was fifteen walking home from school, and I seen this dead bird, this bird had to be dead for a good three days, I couldn't stop staring at it, his wing was completely torn off and laid about three inches away from the body. I was so amused, all the children who walked by me stared and giggled but I didn't care, I wanted to know how this bird died, what places this bird had flown, did it have a family? I wanted to know, so being me, I ran home, I got an empty shoe box, and ran back, I placed the dead bird into the box, and closed the box, I wrote the name Jasper on in, I thought it would be very disrespectful if this poor animal didn't have a name. Jasper seemed fitting, I brought him back to my house, and buried him in the backyard. So, about that I thought I could trust my best friend Monica, who listen and blurted out to the principal that I killed the bird and ripped of his wing and then buried him my back yard. I denied the whole thing, and tried explain my story, the school actually went to my house, and looked for Jasper. They found him. The school told my parents if they didn't get me help, that I wasn't allowed in Mercy High School again. So my parent's put me in this class on Sunday's to help children and teens with animal abuse. That was the start of my hell.
